What do you all think of the Actress who provides the voice of Megara (Movie and TV Show)?

Did you know that they weren't going to let her auditon to do the voice of Meg? Disney still had her portrayal of Belle fresh in their minds, so they didn't think she could pull off what they wanted for the Character of Meg. However, when they finally allowed her to try, they realized she was EXACTLY what they wanted. ...I am soooo glad they gave her a shot, or Meg just wouldn't be the same Meg we all know and love.

I think that it's really sad that Susan Egan was so typecast as Belle at the very beginning of her career. I understand how she was though, because that was her big break, that's what made her famous and a star. I just felt annoyed that Disney was skeptical about her because they still saw her in that role. But it's great that she ended up wowing them, and showing them she was exactly what they wanted!! I'm so glad that Susan Egan provides her voice to Meg, because you're right Natalie, she wouldn't be the Meg we all know and love without that voice. Susan has such a sultry voice! I already mentioned this in another thread, but now since we're on the subject of Susan, it wouldn't hurt me to repeat it... I like how Susan is able to achieve a really sarcastic and bored tone but it can instantly switch to concerned and caring if need be. That's why her voice is so good as Meg's, because Meg is a really sarcastic and witty character, but she also has the potential to be very caring and kind. Yup.

I love that about Meg. In the song I Won't Say (I'm in Love), she has that sarcastic, stubborn tone all through the song...until the last line, when she swithes to such a sweet, dreamy tone. I just love that song soooo much!

I agree with you on that one.
That's a really good thing about Susan. She's also very dramatic, but hey when you're an actress you have to be really dramatic.
There's just something special about her...

I LVOE HER VOICE. And I love the part when she says "Bye bye Wonderboy" for the first time in the movie, after he saved her from the River gaurdian. The way she says it, you can tell Herc melts right ino his sandals.

Yeah she said that line rather quietly, but it sounded like she was trying to be seductive.
And the look on Herc's face after that line. Yeah, the way she said it pretty much made him melt into his own sandals.
Gotta love hot, swooning heroes, eh? lol.
I noticed that Susan has a rather husky voice, it's pretty deep. It's different and no one has a voice like her, her's is very distinct. But it can also sound feminine at times...

Did you see Susan in that Disney Channel movie 'Gotta Kick it Up'?

Yes. I watched that movie in Summer of '02. I was 11 years old. I need to see if it's on cable anytime soon so that I can watch it again. I recall Susan being great in that movie!
But the cameo of that blonde wig wasn't so great...
