I would definitely buy a 2-disk special edition. This movie was funny and exciting! I have this movie on DVD but it's very low quality because I got it off the internet.

Yeah, well...though the Store purchases Hercules DVD is good quality...the special features are pretty much CRAP! Has anyone noticed that Disey seems to be working AROUND Hercules? I mean...the only other movie from the 90's that doesn't have a Special Edition is The Hunchback of Notre Dame! And Hercules is the ONLY movie from the 90's (excluding dinosaur) that doesn't have a sequal. Not that I'm thrilled with the quality of Disney sequals...but it would be nice if this movie got at least a percentage of the attention it deserves.

According to Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hercules_(1997_film)They planned on having a Hercules 2 but they cancelled it... Wasn't there a movie on video of Hercules as a kid or something? Or was that just the series...

Yeah, that was just the series. They just put a few episodes of it on tape, and called Hercules : Zero to Hero. What cheap way to try to get out of a sequal! Not that I don't love the series...I do. But I just don't count it as a sequal...especially since it takes place before over half of the movie!

Yep, the series is really good. But I agree that there should be a sequel!

Boy don't we all. But alas...it will be a long while before we get one. Disney has cancelled the production of all current "in the works" sequals.

It should be a tastefully done sequel, though. Nothing to weird or changing the characters too much.

I think they were planning on making one about the Trojan War. That would've been interesting!

Precisely. I'd be absolutely thrilled to see a well-done "Hercules" sequel were it much more like "Mulan II," or "One-Hundred and One Dalmatians II." With the vivid animation, in-character developments, and as much (as possible) of the original vocal cast. Better yet, if Andreas Deja could return for it, as he did with "Bambi II."
I remember hearing about that concept. It was something vague like Hercules leaving Megara and Hebe (their infant daughter) to fight in the Trojan War and possibly reclaim Helen of Troy. Hmm. But wasn't the Trojan War already referenced in the original ("Pandora, it was the box thing, for the Trojans, hey, they bet on the wrong horse, okay?"), and parodied in the series?
Unless it was a "midquel," or something to that extent. (Even though "midquel" isn't even remotely a word. [grins])
